Vadym Rabinovych starts the fight for pensioners at the legislative level

The Member of Ukrainian Parliament, co-chair of the “OPPOSITION PLATFORM - FOR LIFE” political party Vadym Rabinovych in accordance with Art. 93 of the Constitution of Ukraine, art. 89 of the Rules of Procedure of the Verkhovna Rada, by means of a legislative initiative, submitted to the parliament a draft Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine on the criminalization of actions to initiate, organize the adoption, acceptance (participation in adoption) and implementation of any decisions to establish a minimum pension and other social benefits below the actual subsistence minimum”.

With the submitted draft law, the parliamentarian proposes to the country's supreme legislative body to introduce criminal liability for the accrual of pensions by officials to citizens of Ukraine, who are almost half the subsistence level and doom pensioners to the impossibility of survival.

The draft law submitted by Vadym Rabinovych also contains a requirement for the government to initiate the indexation of pensions and social benefits, as required by law. In particular, the MP called on the Cabinet of Ministers to immediately increase spending on payments to the elderly, since the size of the minimum pension does not correspond to the subsistence minimum.
