Oleg Voloshyn: The situation with refugees on the Polish-Belarusian border is a theater of absurdity

“What we are now seeing on the Polish-Belarusian border is a theater of absurdity. And if Russia and Belarus did not appear in this situation, there would be no such anxiety around these refugees,” Oleg Voloshyn, MP for the OPPOSITION PLATFORM - FOR LIFE faction said on the air of the Ukrainian Format program on the UkrLive channel.

The lawmaker stressed that the refugees are trying to break through not only to Poland, but other countries do not treat these people like the Polish military.

“The whole tragedy unfolding with these poor refugees from Iraq and other countries on the border of Belarus and Poland is a theater of absurdity. In Italy, Spain, the same France, hundreds, even thousands of illegal migrants, refugees from Africa who cross the Mediterranean Sea are landing every day. There they are simply caught and sent back in an organized manner, and then, such actions were called fascism. Here the Poles really behave like fascists,” MP Voloshyn said.

The politician is confident that such attention to this issue is solely because they want to link Russia to the situation.

“I’m confident that if the same Iraqis burst into the European Union from the territory of Turkey, for example, and if Lukashenko and Russia didn’t appear from behind, then nothing would have happened... This is complete nonsense: you first let in only Germany 500 thousand Syrian refugees in 2015, and in 2021 you are not ready to accept 3 thousand Iraqi refugees. This, of course, has exposed that there are no values left in the European Union,” the parliamentarian stated.
