Oleg Voloshyn: Foreign policy should be based on the positions of pragmatism
“Ukraine needs a pragmatic foreign policy, but so far the number of likes under the posts of diplomats are cherished more than the number accounting for a turnover record with a particular country,” Oleg Voloshyn, MP representing the “Opposition Platform – For Life” party, wrote on his Facebook page.
The MP is now on a working visit to Warsaw to conduct a number of meetings with Polish politicians. “I conveyed to my colleagues in the Sejm a report on the systemic oppression of freedom of speech in Ukraine and violence against journalists from the extreme right groups,” Oleg Voloshyn told.
The opposition faction politician discussed the peculiarities of the relationship between Warsaw and Kyiv with the European Union with a member of the Foreign Policy Committee in the Polish parliament Władysław Bartoszewski.
The MP stressed that foreign policy should not abide by the solution of domestic political tasks. “For many years, we have been observing this in Ukraine, when the number of likes in Facebook under the posts of diplomats is cherished more than the number accounting for a turnover record with a particular country,” Oleg Voloshyn noted.
