Yulia Lovochkina: PACE’s Left Group Nominates Senator Tiny Kox for PACE President in 2022–2023
The Group of the Unified European Left in PACE has unanimously nominated Senator Tiny Kox as the next President of PACE for 2022–2023. The decision was taken during the Group’s meeting. This was stated by a member of the Ukrainian PACE delegation, OPPOSITION PLATFORM – FOR LIFE MP Yulia Lovochkina.
Lovochkina noted that there is the Rotation Agreement between
PACE’s political groups which stipulates for rotation of the priority nomination right between the political groups of the Assembly. The right for priority nomination of the PACE President for 2022–2023 belongs to the Unified European Left Group.
Senator Kox has been a member of the Assembly since 2003, the President of the Group — since 2007. Also he is a member of the Assembly’s Bureau. Senator Kox was nominated as a Rapporteur by several PACE’s committees. Under his patronage several important reports were adopted by the Assembly, in particular, reports on the role and mission of the Assembly 2019 and on the Assembly’s strategic priorities of the Council of Europe in 2021.
